hi shai!

A blog about me! (in a non-egocentric sort of way)

I'm here!

Bonjour tout la monde!

I'm here! In Antibes, France. Come on get out your maps and look it up.

My beautiful city over looks the Medditeranian Sea, the Cote d'Azur, and is
next to Nice, Marsailles, and even Monoco. You wouldn't believe how
beautiful it is but all that water makes ...guess...killer freekin humidity.
Add nylons, dress clothes, book bag, purse, and a scripture bag and you get
me the missionnary.

I have to apologize right now because my spelling is going to be worse than
normal. Something to do with that whole French thing. :)

Life has been hard here adjusting to life as a missionnary, life as an
American in France, and life with God in control. It's hard work!

Here's my schedule for the day just so you can know what we do...
6:30 - rise and shine, exercise
7:00 - prepare for the day, breakfast, journal
8:00 - personal study, scriptures, church books, etc
9:00 - comp study, plan for the day, memorize scriptures, (our goal is 3 a
week)
10:00 - language study
11:00 - out the door, contacting, visiting members, etc
1:00 - lunch
2:00 - back to work
8:00 - dinner
9:00 - comp study and goals for the next day
10:00 prepare for bed
10:30 lights out

viola! pretty crazy huh?

Anyway, life is great. It is amazing the difference a smile can make. In the
MTC my teacher said if the first thing you do is smile when you wake up,
your entire day will be different.

Missionnary challenge! Try it! You will see a difference!

Would love to hear from everyone. My mission account is hishai@myldsmail.net

Life is hard in another country but it is getting better. that first week I
didn't think that I would make it. I'm pretty strong but man...I didn't know
if two years would make me crazy. But I'm settled in pretty much. My french
sucks. Last night at a church activity, everytime I talked the people just
laughed and laughed. I feel like and idiot. But ca va...it's all good. There
is this itallian lady that calls me principesa and bella all the time. and
everytime i hear it, i think of you. chiou bella she always says, and then
she kisses me. it's a little akward but she's a really cool old lady that
speaks 4 or 5 languages. it's pretty amazing. but i think she might be
crazy.

Here's some french for you. Je sais que Dieu nous aime beaucoup et il nous
connais personalement. Je sais que la vie est dur mais que nous pouvons
sourmonter tout nos problems grace a Jesus-christ.

toujour aimer,

shai

Translation: I know that God loves us and that he knows us personally. I
know that live is hard but we can overcome our problems with Jesus Christ.

Always Love
